Abacus: Beyond Mathematics

Abacus is the science of learning and performing operations of mathematics such as multiplication, division, addition and subtraction in a shorter period of time and with much ease using a frame tool with beads sliding on wires or rods.

With abacus being integrated with mathematical operations and calculation, it is just limited to the art of learning easy math and dissolving complex calculations into simple ones. Abacus can be taught to all minds, even younger minds between the age group of 7-14 years.

Abacus isn't just related to the relevance of mathematics. It is not just learning skills of math, but it also helps your child to enhance many other skills which are as follows:

A higher sense of spatial reasoning  Abacus is a multi-sensory tool since it acts in many different, yet controlled ways. It helps kids to learn, how to equate physical object with abstract thinking. This builds up both, their imagination and spatial reasoning ability. Numbers they imagined were too big to imagine become understandable and they realize that some of the concepts they might have thought were not much of a big deal turn out to be a bit larger than they thought.
Highly developed long-term memory  When children learn the abacus, they learn how to solve a problem in a limited minimum period of time. This technique is applied to problems outside of arithmetic too. They will know the steps to solve geometrical problems, algebraic problem,s and word problems. They will also learn new languages easier as they remember vocab and grammar better. And as their younger minds are fresh, they can also develop other physical skills which require strong memory skills such as dancing, playing a musical instrument, etc.
Easily accessed short-term memory The short-term memory is not a short-lived memory, it is a memory that is stored in your children consciously and is not needed to be practiced again. In most students, it is filled with how to solve many different problems. However, with the abacus, these solutions do not have to be memorized because they are already known. This frees space in short-term memory for other essentials like schedules and important to-dos.
Critical thinking skills  Abacus is calculation with a focused toolset that helps them calculate larger equations. Because abacus is taught through system knowledge, it teaches children how to critically and analytically think about a problem.
Independence When a child learns how to solve a problem, their sense of confidence grows. They want to try the next problem and the next one. They want to show you what they have done all on their own. Even if they do not understand the problem or do not get the right answer, the feeling of independence is everything to them. It is how they show themselves they are growing up.
